Unlike traditional textbooks, the material in your zyBook can be reordered to fit your syllabus!
To get started go to your class zyBook and click the blue "Configure zyBook" text button.
This will take you into the "Configure Experience".
Clicking on a chapters name allows you to rename the chapter.
Clicking and holding the three bars (gripper tool) on the left-hand side of the chapter allows you to drag the chapter to another location.
Clicking the arrows on the right-hand side of that chapter will expand the chapter so you can see all of the sections in that chapter.
Clicking and holding on the gripper tool on the left-hand side of the section allows you to drag and move the section. Sections can be moved within a chapter, to a different chapter, or to the unused content section.
If there is any material that you feel goes beyond the scope of your class you can choose to make the section optional or even move the section to "Unused".
Optional sections: An optional section is visible to students and is labeled as "optional". Students are able to work on the activities in the optional sections. Any work completed in an optional section is not reflected on the activity dashboard and cannot be downloaded in activity reports.
Unused sections: Sections that have been set to unused are not visible to students at all. Only instructors can view unused content.
To set sections as optional, use checkboxes to select the sections, then click "Set selected sections as optional" on the right.
To set sections as unused, you can either drag the section to "Unused" OR use the checkboxes and select "Mark selected sections as unused"
Clicking the "Add new chapter" button will create an empty chapter that you can rename and drag section into.
When you're all finished hit "Save"
Tip: We recommend saving frequently to avoid frustration if something unusual should happen such as your computer shutting down or losing internet connection.
