The following article has been replaced with a newer article: How to link a zyBook assignment to an LMS
The article below is still relevant but will retire on 12/15 in favor of the newer article linked above.
Please read our article on Single Sign-on first.
Also, please ensure that your LMS administrator has configured Blackboard with the authentication secret and key. If not, you’ll require these items when creating a link to the zyBook.
Step 1 - Creating a link in Blackboard
From your course home page, select "Content" in the left menu.
Hover over the "Build Content" dropdown and select "Web Link".
Start by entering your assignment name followed by the zyBooks LTI provider URL (https://lti.zybooks.com/v1/lti_provider).
If your LMS administrator has configured your LMS with the key and secret already, proceed to the next step. If not, proceed by entering the key and secret for your school which can be obtained by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Make sure, "This link is a tool provider" is checked.
To create a link to a section, select the "No" radio button for the "Enable Evaluation" setting.
Select choices for attachments, web links, and standard options. Selections here will not affect linking your section to a zyBook. When finished, press the Submit button.
When finished, you should see the link in your content. Click on the link to proceed to your zyBook and select a section to link to.
Step 2 - Configure the link on the zyBooks website
After creating a link in Blackboard, you must configure that link on the zyBooks website to point to a specific assignment. While logged into Blackboard using an email address that is assigned as an instructor on one or more zyBooks, follow a newly created LMS link to zyBooks to initiate the configuration process.
Select a zyBook
You should be taken to the following page where you will see all of your active zyBooks on which you are a verified instructor. Select the zyBook you wish to create a link to.
After selecting a zyBook, a new screen will be shown that provides options to link directly to an assignment.
Linking to an assignment allows you to bundle together a set of zyBook sections, set a due date, and link to your LMS gradebook for simplified grading. Follow the directions on the screen to complete the linking process.
Linking to a section
Click on either "Link to table of contents" or and of the "Link to section" buttons to choose where you would like students to be directed.
Return to LMS
Once created and linked, students will be able to see the link in Blackboard.
